ELLIOTT ZIMMERMAN

I was born of Madame Joy and Handsome Johnny in a land of Freedom far from here. Closer to Somewhere Over the Rainbow, where there is sunshine on a cloudy day. In the Year of the Cat. When I asked I got no explanation. Just that.

Saw fields of green and red roses too. And poppies. Poppies will make you sleep. It really was no miracle what happened next was rich. Vanilla Fudge, Buddha, The Chocolate Box, and a White Room with black curtains that I entered during the Season of the Witch. There was Something in the Air and For What It’s Worth, there was something happening here.

Travelled through Ixtlan and ended up In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. Took a Walk on Gilded Splinters. Listened to the Cat and Richie H. and Van the Man and lots of all kinds of music.

Sometimes felt Kind of Blue. After though came A Love Supreme. But You Can’t Hurry Love. Asked Alfie what’s it all about. Again no explanation so settled for whatever could get out of A Day in the Life. Steered clear of Room 101. Saw the White Rabbit.

Fell in love with the Sad-Eyed Lady and the Brown-Eyed Girl but couldn’t figure out what was so funny about Peace, Love and Understanding. Axis, Bold as Love and you just had to Seal It with a Kiss.

Meditated with Stuart Wilde and Krishnamurti. Read the Glass Bead Game and Siddhartha. Contemplated complicated matters from Across the Universe and whether it was true that All You Need is Love.

Tried to count how many miles a man could walk down. Couldn’t but walked anyway. So many years ago I started to make music. And I never stopped. Music will always be. It is everywhere. It is with you. All you have to do is listen.
